Dependents age?
I believe my children are classed as dependents until they leave University................can anyone advise me on this please?

i think though you may have some responsibility for children untill they become of age (18). i think you may get benefits (dhss), untill then, but if the kids went to uni till they were 32, then it's nowt to do with you.

Regarding child support from absent parent in the UK:
16 is the minimum age where child maintenance can stop. Between the ages of 16 and 19, if the child is enrolled full-time in school (more than 12 hours per week and the course is up to and including A level), child maintenance for the child must be paid. This does not apply to advanced study, like study at a college or university, this only includes non-advanced study.
Child benefit is payable until the child is 16, or 19 in full time education.
So, your children are not classed as dependents if they are 19 or over at university.
