Presumably they pass on email addresses and potentially IP addresses, which is all anyone needs if what Chaterbox says is right. In any event, any PC without an adequate firewall is open to hostile attacks to take your personal data.

Does the other site also pass on information?

It's not a scam, its not a fake. It's a new site which promises the following:-

1. No excessive advertising.

2. No abuse.

3. Ignore function.

4. Smileys.

5. 1 account per person, no greenies, no trolls, no spammers.

I know where I'd rather post ffs.

Users on here moan about the abuse and the trolls, well this new place gives you everything you want without them. No scams, no fakes. Try it. You might even like it.

what's not user friendly about being able to see who is posting in other threads, who is online, ignoring people you want to, having avatars, being able to edit your post, having no trolls, having no multiple users, having no abuse and having smilies?

Just to update anyone who's interested- I received a PM in above site stating they understood I wanted to be removed! I found that slightly disturbing, considering the only place I mentioned that was on here.
