Where is Les?

Where has Les Battersby in Coronation Street gone. Maybe I missed a couple of episodes, but he just seemed to disappear with no obvious explanation. Also, who is paying the rent on their council house when both Les and Cilla have gone and Kirk is unemployed?

In the show, Les went on the road with Status Quo after they turned up. In real life he was sacked last year for revealing story lines in a pub when he was drunk.

Rent wise, Cilla would probably have been getting housing benefit and just not declared that she was going abroad!

The actor Bruce Jones was on celebrity Wife Swap along with Sinitta Sunday night. Seems he's just a layabout in reality too. Watches tv all day whilst his wife clears up around him, then off down the pub at night.
