Um, apologies if this is a stupid question, but i have noticed that recently a large number of answers have the "edited by answerbank" sign by them, but show no other visible signs of being edited. For example, no words have been "starred out". Anyone know why? Has the Ed gone on a random editing spree?!

Sometimes the Editor corrects typographical errors (since we are not allowed to do it ourselves :-) or deletes dodgy or libellous parts of an answer if there is still valid content in the rest of the answer (i.e. if it is not necessary to delete the whole answer).

btw, we still need to have answers being described as "deleted" not "banned".  Yesterday I discovered that four of my recent answers have been banned, but in each case it was because they referred to other answers which were irrelevant and which had been banned.

Oh, that explains things! Thank you!

I have just noticed that one of my answers from yesterday (in the Prince William question in the News section) has been edited for no apparent reason (the bold bits have been un-bolded).

Perhaps this means that the Editor is bored / doesn't have enough to do / is fiddling with some answers just to see if we have noticed.

Editor was having a field day yesterday banning all sorts of things and adding notes to long gone questions.  But the editor is very busy!
bernardo - You may recall some time back, me asking AB Ed if he could change the word Banned to Deleted as it sounded nicer. I wonder if it will ever happen?
Questions moved to the correct category are "Edited by Answerbank": there's lots of them.

No AB Ed - I am talking about Q&A that you actually BAN & which show up on your 'My Details' as 'Banned'.

(I know I haven't had anything banned since there was a trouble maker on AB & I was defending myself - I am now only speaking on behalf of others)
