I went to the dentist last week and had a filling done behind an upper front tooth. There never was any pain there, he just filled it to prebvent the cavity getting any worse. Problem is that since then tooth has become very sensitive to cold drinks. Do you reckon the dentist did something wrong??
If you aggravate a nerve, it can take 10 days or so for it to settle down. I presume the dentist had to do a bit of drilling etc to do the filling so a few days discomfort isn't unusual.
No, there's nothing wrong, it's exactly as jenky and FP have said.
Brush with Sensodene toothpaste, and also rub a tiny glob of this paste around the affected area after brushing to bring rapid relief - however if there's no improvement after 10 days then you must consult your dentist again.
I have had the same thing happen.... and I am sorry to say this, but it took mine about a month to settle down... or maybe it was the 2.5 cartridges of anaesthetic that they had to give me before I could let them near me....
