My partner has given his notice, but at the start of the year he had to decide his benefits (gym membership, health plan etc) on of the benefits was a works trip snowboarding for a week. When he chose the benefits he had no idea he was going to leave.
He has now had his last payslip and they have basically charged him for the trip (90% of his pay) even though he is not going, as he won't be with the company when they go.
Can they do this?
