I have changed the battery and the code I had from previous owner is not accepted.
406 1996 standard philips
model no. 22DC594/65
prod no FD 0297349141354

Any help / advice appreciated

Can't help you directly, but when I needed one I asked at
www.406oc.co.uk which is the 406 owners club forum.

You could also try www.clubpeugeot.co.uk or www.peugeotcentral.co.uk as there are a couple of guys who freqent all those forums and will happily assist you with a code for free.
