I bought a digital camera about 2 weeks ago. It has stopped funcitoning (yes, put in new batteries!) .
Although I discarded the packaging I have the receipt. Will this be enough for an exchange or will it be 'sent away'?? tyia.

It turned out to be the type/brand of batteries she had replaced the old ones with. The shop she bought it from put in a different battery brand and the camera worked fine again.
This probably isn't the problem with yours though.lol.
I would think the reciept should be enough proof for an exchange or refund.

thanks daffy, I did wonder actually. I bought sainsburys extra strength ones and they worked fine; I replaced them today as the camera was not switching on, and still nothing happened.
I went on the website which has details for Americans only (!) of which batteries are compatible. Imagine my surprise, they were Kodak ones!!!
To avoid the faff, I hope they just replace it. At least it comes with batteries lol.

check your receipt - it will tell you if this is excluded from the 30 day moneyback guarantee, I've a feeling cameras are and that means you can't take it back just because you don't like it .HOWEVER you still have your statutory rights. The item is faulty (assuming you haven't obviously abused or bounced it!) so I'm pretty sure they will replace or exchange it without any trouble after only two weeks.Get back to the shop as quickly as you can with your receipt .The longer you've had it , the more likely they are to send it away for repair. (Saturdays are good days They're far too busy to want to argue!!)
