Does anyone know of a way to unclip the apparently 'permenant' clip on a plastic wriststrap like the ones you get for festivals and all inclusive holidays, that sort of thing? Any help appriciated.

Inside the tiewrap head is a little metal tag that acts as a ratchet on the ridges of the band
A narrow strip of thin sheet metal can be pushed into the head on the ridged side of the tail end, and in the same direction as if you were fitting the band. This will lift the metal tag inside the head. Leaving the metal strip in place, the tail end can then be pulled free. Afterwards, the band can still be re-used.
