Cat Spraying

Hi my 8 year old tom cat has suddenly started to spray the side of my washing machine as I let him out the back door. No other cats have been in, other than the 2 female cats that I have. He has been brought up with them, cant make out why he is doing this. He has been done whilst a kitten. Thanks

is there a new cat in the neighbourhood? if he's seen a cat in your garden who he feels threatened by, he'll make himself feel secure in his home by marking it with his scent.
keep your eye out for any new cats - or indeed any cats - in your garden and shoo them away.... also, try to keep him out of the windows where he can see the garden.
