Am I the only person fed up with the David Platt story lines and wish he would just disappear? His story lines are so predictable.
Not so long ago Jack was interviewed for a programme and he annoyed me just as much in person, how many times in one interview can a person use the word basically?
Personally I don't think he will be recognised as an all round actor anytime soon!
Totally agree. Aside from corrie I saw him interviewed/spoken to live on an awards show, and in person he still seemed the same as his character. Totally self centred and bored. Obviously he doesn't do much acting for the part of david....
I am still trying to work out if he changed in to his character or his character changed in to him, very little difference as I can see and that is definitely not a compliment on his acting skill.
theonlyone, absolutely. They are great and in true corrie style, like Jack and Vera were and the Ogdens. Ah how I miss those days when story lines weren't so strung out and hard to believe.
As if all that has happened to Gail could happen to one person - husband murdered, serial killer husband, daughter pregnant at 12, driven in to canal, psycho son. I am sure there is more, but it is just too depressing.........................
I too long for the old style Corrie with believable characters and plots and massive doses of humour. It goes from bad to worse.
However, I agree about Fizz and Chestney (and 'Kiirky')and would add Eileen and Steve to my favourites. All very good actors with a terrific ability to also be humourous.
And to answer the question - yes, I am fed up with David Platt and hope he gets put away for a long time (and takes all the boring people along with him)!
I totally agree with you HJT40 and David is about to be interred in a young offenders institute. We have even more to add to your list of Gail's life as well. David is going to smash up the street with a scaffolding pole, he will damage cars, windows and wait for it.......... Ken Barlow ! If that isn't enough Gail's long lost father is going to turn up (Michael Byrne) and it turns out he's gay. How much more can the poor girl take?
Totally agree with HJT40 and everyone else. I have never rated Jack P Shepherd as an actor, don't think he'll be someone we'll never forget like Jack, Vera and Hilda etc! Perhaps when he goes into a YOI, with a bit of luck perhaps the scriptwriters will forget he's there and not bring him back.
nothing to do with david but did anyone notice in yesterdays corrie that when deirdre got splashed when the van went past her it was only a few drops but in the next scence she was soaked, or am i jsut being picky!!
I missed both Corrie and Eastenders last night, so I shall keep my eyes peeled in the omnibus.
I have a very sad fact to admit but Monday night is saved for The Fixer, Andrew Buchan is absolutely gorgeous........... hmm happy thoughts for the day ;-)
Gail should have a part in "Desperate Housewives"Over the top storylines, she would fit in well and then David could turn up in Wisteria Lane after his incarceration and have an affair with Gabrielle {everybody else does}
