My son aged 10 insists that he cannot use his knife and fork in the correct way, i.e. knife in the right hand and fork in the left hand. He is right handed. Should I be encouraging him constantly to use his knife and fork correctly or is this something that is acceptable?
Your right legend hardly anyone sits down to a meal at the table anymore!!!
I wouldn't encourage him to change the way he holds his knife and fork he's obviously comfy using it the way he is. My sis is left handed but she uses her knife in her right hand but does everything else with her left hand *weird*
I understand that. My point was that the person who posed the question need not feel that her child is doing something wrong.
I use it this way because it is easier to use the knife with the leading hand,
However, please do not think I disagree with your statement. :)
Think what you will. See from my last post that I do not necessarily disagree with you.
Good table manners are paramount, as stated earlier, not enough meals taken at the table now, irrespective of place settings.
Logging off for the eve now. Best wishes to all.
:)
I'm just chuckling to myself after reading all the replies + Dzintra's answers! It's as if she's saying "ok, right, I get it , now shut the **** up! No offence Dzintra!
Just logging off and saw your post andrea81. Glad you all eat however you like.Same here. My comment (as a folow-on from earlier ones ) re eating at table should really read family mealtimes. We too have those every day. We don't even have a table! Best wishes!
