the kids have just bought a super duper pc.
It's got everything they need and more and they are really pleased with it.
When I had a go though, the keyboard and mouse, which are wireless, don't seem to work very well - missing letters out and mouse not responding.
It wasn't cheap - a phillips - and I just wondered are they all like this or could it be faulty?
I've never used wireless before.

try new battries, the ones that come with most things have been kicking around in a warehouse for ages and are normally well past their best before you even put them in.

Make sure the reciever for the keyboard and mouse isn't obstructed by anything as well.

once you've changed the batteries ... note the date ... add a couple of days to it ... and make sure you have spares by then .... repeat for the rest of it's natural life .....

alternatively ... cut your losses ... buy an old tech plug in keyboard and mouse (you'll be surprised how cheap they are you'll more than recoup the costs before the leaves start to fall) .... smile knowingly whenever you hear anyone mention wireless keyboards ... and feel smug at all the money you are saving...
the only possible justification for a wireless KB and mouse is as part of a media centre setup .... any wireless device that normally sits less than 12" from the far end is a gimmick ...

how right you are Troll.

My sister has a wireless keyboard sitting on her computer desk and whenever theres a problem, I have to toddle off round to her house to fix it.

The last time the keyboard wouldnt work I checked the batteries and found that they were all but dead. I asked her for some more and all she gave me was ones 'that might work'. I told her at the time that wireless would be unnecessary for her but she reckons it looks better as there's no unsightly wires. One wire for pete's sake. As they say, you can lead a horse to water.......

So true... what is the point of having a wireless keyboard and mouse on a desktop computer, when are you ever going to want to use your keyboard and mouse far enough away from the screen that you can't read it. I do have a wireless keyboard, in the front room connected to my xbox so I can type messages on that without having a cable strung accross the room
