Monitoring fees of vets & private dentistry
When are the Government going to implement monitoring of vets & private dentistry fees? They are both ripping this nation off big-time. Vets in particular take advantage of the fact that British people will do (and therefore pay) anything to ensure their pets are well and happy. But I believe both vets and private dentists take advantage full-stop financially. Is there any sign or hope of a monitoring system coming into force?

why the hell should the government regulate these businesses? Its like saying when are the government going to regulate the price of chinese take aways? the prices are shocking - four pounds thirty for a chicken chow mein round here. They are just taking advantage of me financially! I'm going to write to my gp about "scezhuan express" and ask him to step n for me. or perhaps even gordon brown.
Dentists never will get 'parity' as the above response suggests. It isn't enshrined in the National Health Service - at least not the way successive Governments interpret it. That's way so many have decided to go private - which is another way of saying 'declining to take patients funded to the limits determined by Government'.
As Ethel says, people should shop around more for their services. Its only inertia / laziness that limits this.
