My hubby is already in the building trade (a bricklayer) and due to weather amongst other things he is sick to death of not being able to work so wants to learn another trade. We have looked into the qualifications needed to become a plumber but it is quite confusing! There are City & Guilds intensive 10 week block courses which claim to make you fully qualified or at one college he could do an NVQ level 2 over 2 years as he cannot do it full time for a year. If we knew these intensive courses would allow him to then work as a plumber afterwards it would possibly be worth borrowing the money to do so (they cost around 3500 to 5000) but I what we don't want is to do this and find out he still has to do an NVQ as well. Does anyone have any knowledge on this?
