pressue and combi boilers

hi,
hope you can help.....
my shower is never very hot but the radiators seem fine.
when running, the temperature goes up to 50 degrees and the pressure almost 3., but still the shower is luke warm
i have tried turning something like a nipple valve below the boiler, but it makes no difference and now warm water drips out of the overflow(?) pipe on the outside wall.
any suggestions?

just a thought your shower the blender inside might have gone ?i think that nipple valve is a pressure relief valve that is attached to the over flow pipe and that why you have warm water dripping outside if so it needs a new one

You have operated the Safety Pressure Relief Vale and they do not like to be disturbed. Once operated they tend to stick open and never seal back up again properly resulting in the discharge of you're central heating fluid. Ultumatley this will lead to low pressure shutdown and boiler failure. All you can do now is try to get it to shut it off properly by once again opening it up, and letting some fluid out. Fingers crossed if there is some grit or muck got stuck in the valve it may wash out and sit down correctly again and then you will have to re-presurise the system. If this still fails to work then you need to replace the PRV. The shower problem could be a few things it may not be the correct shower for the boiler or it is scaled up. The boiler may not even be powerfull enough for the shower. What boiler is by the way ?

hey thanks, i'm gonna try your suggestions. The boiler is a Vokera Excell 80E by the way.

The Vokera excel 80E is well known to us engineer's as been under-powerd and rubish with showers it is only a 23kw rated boiler with a very poor l/min delivery. They also degrade quite quickly and need regular diaphragm changes to keep the hot water at the best it can do (which is not very much ). Also the PRV on these are rubbish and often need replacing. I think you are going to need an engineer round to fit a new PRV and diaphragm from the sounds of it.
