Thiis should manage to do some "winding up". I am just adding to comments to the original question by rufuscat. The MOS crossword seems to cause the most number of original and repeat questions and they start from what seems the moment the paper comes off the press and go on and on and on..........
Is it the most difficult crossword or are the people that do it the laziest of the "doers" in that they never look for the answers themselves before posting the questions?????

I don't post many questions but when I do, it asks me to scroll down to see if the question has already been asked. Obviously these 'multiple' posters don't bother to do that. I play a game to try and spot which will be the question of the week on the answerbank. Sometimes on a tuesday or wednesday, the same question is being posted that was answered about ten times on the Sunday.
The mos xword is really quite easy and is general knowledge. It takes less time to google the question than post on AB. Or there is a website where someone posts his completed grid.
Personally, I should hate to look so ignorant by asking these easy questions.
I think the people who do post must look on AB as a sort of club! That's why the site is so slow on Sunday. They clog it up.

I have been attempting this crossword for some years.
At the age of 79 with what I think is reasonable general knowledge I would complete about 50% of it each week.
Acquiring a computer increased this to about 90%.
Sometimes son was able to help. Always two or three clues not apparent on Google.
Answerbank since last month supplies missing answers,
usually within minutes.
I consider this crossword difficult, every week at least one
word I have never seen before, yesterday's example
malacostraca.
I agree that many people cannot check previous answers before posting their question.
