Finalise DVD

I have seen this "finalise," before and many other phases similar. What is it, If I buy a pack of blank DVD`s what do I have do to enable them to play on a PC, DVD player etc TIA

After you have burned your disk you finalise it - it is usually in the options menu of the software or dvd recorder and takes a few minutes.

After finalising, the disk cannot be erased or have new content burned to it.

Very often, re-writable disks cannot be finalised, but should still play on other dvd players.

What do you use to burn your dvds? Nero, Vista?
