I'm getting very odd looking rain radar images from several sites, including the Met Office. Is there something wrong with my computer, or is there something wrong with the radar info being transmitted?

You and me both, Spriggins! Odd bits there, other bits that funny blue colour.....so I guess it's them not us. For a couple of weeks now, the radar on the Met Office site has been temperamental to say the least. Trying to play the sequence of the previous 12 images has been jerky, if not completely impossible. It's been OK today, but still not running freely. If it doesn't improve soon, I shall mail them to see how long this is going to go on. I use that page as my home page, sad meteorologist that I am!!!
I didn't know such things could be researched on the net and it sounds very interesting. Any advice how I can get involved, websites etc. Thanks
Try this site for starters:

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk There are loads of links for rainfall radar, satellite pictures, forecasts and synoptic charts.
Thanks snowyowl. I had some interest in the subject some years ago as I'm a licenced radio amateur (out of date hobby now) but there were many enthuiasts demonstrating met equipment at ham radio rallies, much of which was home built, looks quite interesting. I'm going to have a look at the site now Thanks again.
