hopefully the scorpion would win on weapon tactics and then die from exaustion.

Having kept both I would say that the Scorpion would mill around eating the occasional Cricket and the Spider would make a nest in the top corner of the case!

I never thought of putting them in a shoe box and seeing who was alive after an hour. The spider has speed and the strike but no protection.

Up close in the claws of the Scorpion it wouldn't be long before the tail would get the better of the Spider.
