What's the name of the old black and white film where a daughter is ashamed of her mother because she is black. The daughter is black but looks white. At the end of the film the daughter is sorry and is too late. She arrives at mother's funeral and clings on to the carriage that is carrying her mother's coffin?

so glad i stumbled across this thread i seen that film when i was about 9 years old and the impact of it has never left me . and i have never been able to find out the title. thanks .

When I watched this film for the second time (it was on TV a few years ago), I told myself I would not cry because I knew what was coming. But I couldn't stop crying again.

i must of missed it then . i would love to see it again and i would still cry even at the age of 49 .

I can't find clips of the earlier version. I can't remember which one I've actually seen.
