7 Answers
I heard that there was a dry lake in Death valley that this year has some water in it ( 2.5 ft) and that the water is very salty, so you float when you get in it. Does anyone know where this is/ have a map or seomthing So i can get there?

Went through Death Valley in 1978. Visited what I think was Firecreek Ranch which had a neat lawn watered by garden sprinklers. It was a strange sight after coming from UK where after a couple of weeks of heat and no rain watering your lawn is one of the first things to be banned.
I also do not know of the lake you mention but you may well see some amazing mirages of lakes in that heat, as I did.

Ummm... Racetrack Playa is well known to those familiar with Death Valley here in the U.S. This "lake" is normally dry, but rain showers wash down from mountain ridges on both sides and often leave water in the basin, at least for a short while. This is the dry lake bed with the mysterious "travelling" rocks... see this link ...
