There are publishing houses that specialise in this - it's called 'vanity publishing' technically. However, they can't guarantee your book will be bought by anyone! I have seen runs of 10,000 books pulped before today because none were sold after a decade or so.
To become a selling author, you need to get your work read and taken on by a 'proper' publisher. Use the 'writer's handbook' as a guide to which publishers might want your work, as different firms specialise in different sorts of books.
The 'cost' in ths scenario is considerable, as writing a selling book and getting it published will require lots of effort on your part. Even harry potter was rejected by many publishers - you have to develop a thick skin and be very determined.
Good luck.

Best one is Writers and Artists Yearbook - it's what most pros. refer to:

You have to be very careful if you're self-publishing. There are legitimate self-publishing houses out there who will charge you varying amounts for a variety of services. There are also a good many who aren't so honest, and it pays to do plenty of research before you commit. Self-publishing is also hard work, usually for very little monetary reward.
Best thing is to get the book written. Attend a few workshops and courses (but don't hang on their every word - it's good advice, but not gospel) and just enjoy the process of writing and getting better at it. Don't forget to read plenty, both within and outside of your own 'genre', because you can't write well unless you read well.
And the very best of luck.
