I have just bought a Bosch SDS drill and i was wondering are all sds bits universal(ie: if i get Dewalt bits will they fit in a bosch) or do you have to use there own brand bits...........
Special Direct System bits are universal now but they did differ slightly years ago.
So yes is the answer. Brands are all interchangable and thats from many years experience.
Just done a little search and SDS derives itself from a German interpretation of 'Insert Twist Stay'
OK i'll get my coat now.
Hilti look similar but are incompatible.
Some others only go in one way.
There are SDS and SDS Plus which are interchangeable then SDS Max which is bigger.
