i have full custody of my 16 year old son and his father has parental responsibility, we were not married at the time he was born.
i went to greece a year ago and as my son did not want to go due to exams and friends ect he decided to stay with his father, a decision he now bitterly regrets!
he now wants to come out and visit me for the summer holidays but his father has refused and has even hidden his passport.
surely i still have rights just because i am not in the country
and i believe that my son has rights too
does anyone have an answer please

Isn't he legally an adult and can decide for himself now?

Your son could always tell the passport office he's lost it and pay for a replacement without his father knowing.
I think Dakota is right. He's old enough to make his own decisions. If your unsure phone the Citizens Advice Bureau they'll put you right. Good Luck I know you must be worried xx
