Is it ok to immediately cover treated ground with garden membrane OR should I wait until WK shows signs of its work???

A weedkiller containing glyphosate, such as Roundup, will work thru the leaves into the roots and altho it will take a couple of weeks to show, it has supposedly done its work in the first day or two.

Have actually already strimmed and membraned the area without weedkiller as I didn't want to harm a couple of nearby shrubs....Will have to get another bag of bark though.
