To move or not to move (that is the question)

My mortgage finishes soon, although I will have a shortfall as it is a dreaded endowment one.

I really want to move and I am trying to sell my property with not much luck at the moment, obviously because of the whole housing/mortgage scenario.

I know it would probably be cheaper to stay put, but as it is not what I really want to do should I stay on the market at a reduced price and wait? (bearing in mind I will find it harder to get a mortgage too!!)

Is anyone else in this muddle?????

You could move into a cheaper house. You wouldn't need a mortgage then.
Yes, I am in the same pickle. We have had our house up for a while. Our re-mortgage is due in a few months, if we leave it reach the base line, we will be paying out about 300 more a month on our payments (not do-able!) as I will be on my maternity pay wich is rubbish!

So we were toying with lowering price of house (to find a buyer) or sitting and waiting a bit more for the price we need!

We are looking to buy a cheeper house though, but with the worry of getting a mortgage, we are so worried that come renewal, we wont eb able to get a better deal if we don't sell!

What a mess!
What ever you do, DO NOT usethe company NATIONAL HOMEBUYERS THEY ARE A RIP OFF.

The only offered me 55% of the value of my house after i paid for the survey, which they will not now give me back.
