hi i have a large weeping willow 22ft high which is 22ft from my house ,do i need to take this tree down ,? also how do i go about killing the roots ? all replys welcome thank you

They are one of the worst for siting near property and will certainly prevent you selling up easily. Our next door neighbour cut his down before selling up.
To kill the roots we put some creosote on the stump which did the trick. But I believe a tarry substance will also do the trick

Get in a couple of reliable tree surgeons and take their advice. Taking out such a tree in one go could possibly cause 'ground heave' as the ground rehydrates, which can be as bad as subsidence. It could be that they will recomend a reduction over 2 or 3 years - depends on size and ground conditions.
