Is it legal to copy recorded music for private use in France? Wikipedia says it is "in Canada and parts of Europe" but I can't find a reference

Yes - if it is protected by copyright

Seems it may be legal to back-up to your pc or i-pod etc, but no mention of copying to disc in this article
