Opening the bonnet

The cable has snapped to open the bonnet of my 91 Mercedes 560SEL. Does anyone know a way of opening the bonnet from the outside of the car as there is no other way in???

HELP/ Where do i stand.

don't know about a merc but on the couple of cars I've had to change bonnet release cables on (errr a cortina and a opel manta, so not quite same leavel of car) it has involved laying under front of car removing any under pan that may be there and threading your arm up from below to pull bonnet release by hand
