outside light bulb - broke and stuck

my outside light recently blew - i have lived here 4 years and never touched it! when i opened up the outer case all the glass fell out - the whole bulb is gone and it has left the metal bit stuck in the fitting that i need to put the new bulb in to!! the thing is that its not budging and i cant get it out - any ideas?? thanks in advance

Make sure that the unit is disconnected from the mains- NOT JUST SWITCHED OFF!!!!, then try apair of long nosed pliers

Thanks - i tried this and only managed to bend the thing and put a hole in it!!! this thing is not shifting!!! i think its maybe a job for an electrician!!!! more money!!!
