WWI again
Would people have known the war was over on November 11th, since I heard there were few - or no - radios at home? Or did people back home simply not know until a wire or a telegram arrived saying that there had been an agreement at 6am?

I know that my Great Aunt was working a mill in Lancashire and on November 11th 1918 called in at my Grandmas house to say that they had been sent home from the mill because the war was going to end that day. She went home all excited and hoping that there was going to be a letter from her husband, who was serving in France. Unfortunately there was no letter but a telegram waiting for her to say that her husband had died. He died of the Spanish Flu not war wounds.
