sending photos in emails

I need to send a lot of photos in an email but they are taking forever to send and are massive when the recipient opens the email.
Is there some way that I can send them in a smaller format/way. Even better, I have them all in one file saved in "My Pictures" - is there some way that I can send the whole file instead of individual pictures?

What you need to use is a file host.
Basically, you upload you're file to them and they give you a link to that file.
You then send that link to all the people you would like to have a copy of you're file and they download it.
Just google 'file host' or a popular one is 'rapidshare'
These are free but they will try to get you to sign up for a premium account which offers unlimited etc. etc. etc.

some of these file hosts also require your photos to be below a certain size.

Have you got a Hotmail account? (Free.) If so I think it will automatically shrink pictures for you, if you want, when you send them as attachments.

jno - I have a hotmail account although I use outlook express. If i go to hotmail.com and send them from there should it work ok?

I also forgot to say that it used to work ok, so might my settings have changed or something like that?

What does the user that you are sending the files to want to do with the photos.

If they need to be printed, the will need to stay at high resolution.

If they are for a presentation or for the web, they can be reduced to low reolution.

It is also possible to compress the folder with all the photos in and send just one .zip file.

If your pictures all in (my pictures) just highlight the ones you need to send and down left hand side under " file and folder tasks" click on email this file and your photos will be reduced in size for emailing
