I had a tooth out on friday morning, it had an abcess on the root, the dentist said there was a bit of root left in which shouldnt cause pain and would work its way out. My mouth is still really sore as if ive only just had it out. i still cant eat on that side. and pain killers are not working very well. just wondered if its normal to still be in pain. Rachel

its normal to feel some pin or discomfort after having a tooth out, but after 3 days doesnt sound right to me. I would speak to your dentist ASAP and get booked in for a check, just to be sure.

Good luck!

wash your mouth with brandy , it will take the pain away
If there was an abcess, the dentist should have prescribed some antibiotics. Are you using salt dissolved in warm water as a mouthwash? That should help, and anti-inflammatory painkillers will be best- just get ibuprofen bp, exactly the same as Nurofen, but a fraction of the price.Good luck x
