My daughter has received a parking ticket from a company called CMS UK Ltd. She was at Pizza Hut, her car waqs parked outside. The ticket says code 10 not parked in a parking bay. There was a rugby match on at the stadium so I guess thats why the attendants were out. Is there anyway around not paying this ticket? Thanks for any advice you can give.
Were you parked in the car park owned by Pizza Hut or were you parked on the highway? If the former then you have got an unenforceable invoice which you should ignore. If the latter then you have got a 'proper' parking ticket (PCN). These can be invalid for many reasons, incorrect wording, incorrect signs or incorrect road markings. Thanks for your replies. Yes there are signs up and no she was not parked in a bay. She was parked on the car park outside pizza hut but I dont think they own it, I think it is owned by the complex.
A parking charge notice is not the same as a penalty charge notice (PCN). A PCN is issued by a council or agents acting on their behalf and is a'proper' parking ticket. A penalty charge notice is 'issued' by a private parking contractor who deliberately use the words 'Parking charge notice' to intimidate and scare you into paying their ludicrous 'fines'. It is merely an unenforceable invoice. Do not pay, ignore them and other threats and letters that they may send. Lots of examples of this type of scam on pepipoo.
