2004... Twenty 'o' four?

We called 1904, nineteen 'o' four, not one thousend nine hundred and four so shouldnt we call 2004 twenty 'o' four and not two thousand and four?

Therefore the principle of maximising economy of verbosity is incentivised to a much reduced extent by the present combination of circumstances with respect to the prevailing conditions of one hundred years ago.
