Clicking Jaw

every now and again, when ever im eating something i hear my jaw clicking and i can feel it aswell. Its not sore but VERY annoying. My dad says that he has it and i was wondering if it is hereditary (sp)

yep - i think it's definitely hereditary. Both myself and my sister have this problem although hers is much worse than mine - when she yawns you can hear her jaw click from the other side of the room... she's also been known to suffer from lockjaw at the dentist! ouch! I've mentioned it to my dentist before but to be honest you just have to live with this as long as it doesn't become painful - just annoying.

Mine does the same, but nearly all the time now! Do you grind your teeth in your sleep? That's what caused mine!
