I am turning out my bathroom cabinet, and find several sun creams/ lotions which are well over a year old.
I have heard they should be renewed each year.
Does anyone know if this is so?
With the warnings about skin cancer, I want to 'do the right thing'.
So, please all you clever people, what should I do? Keep, or ditch?
Many thanks

there should be a use by symbol on side
normally there is a little thing that looks like a flip lid with a number beside it for example 12 or 24. If it is 24 then it is fine for 2 years after opening.
I myself cant remember when I bought things to work out when I've had them a year
Saw on BBC1's The One Show yesterday that old sunscreens can be dangerous . Can't remember the details though , sorry.

Thanks, everyone.

I have heard that some of the active ingredients do stop working over time, but then I've heard that that is all a marketing ploy to make you buy more instead of still using your old stuff!

Either way I've used some stuff that was quite an age and it still worked (I know for sure because I missed a spot on my arm and that was the only bit that burnt!)
