Can I use my own ringtone, namely a tune that I like,as my ringtone on my phone and if so, can I also use a photograph as a caller I.D. ??
The idea is that I can see who is calling and know also by the assigned tune!!

depends on the handset that you have. some handsets allow you to set individual ring tones for each contact as well as a picture.

I bought this phone for the missus, can change ringtone and caller ID pic no probs but can't figure out how to use our own tone for text message and not one of the 4 default tones. Any ideas?

I have this phone, best phone I've ever had. Look at the idiots hand book (no offence intended) it explains it all really well.
