This thread brings to mind those beauty paegents(spelling?) in America. The mothers dress their little girls up with full make, etc. and enter them in to these beauty contests. It is creepy. And wasn't one of them stalked and murdered by a pervert?

I find the whole beauty pageant scene in the US absolutely distasteful, as do I the selling of padded bras to children.

I'd like to hear Tesco's defense of this.

God why can't we just let children be children. We need to go back to basics I say.

Sexualising young children is despicable in my opinion. My daughter is only ten and already fully physically developed. If I thought for one moment anyone was looking at her in a sexual way I don't think I could be responsible for my actions. There's no excuse for dressing these tiny girls provocatively and I despair of the mentality of mothers that encourage it.

On reading the article, it says "The bra, which costs �4, is sold alongside vests in the supermarket's seven to eight-year-old age range."
It does not say that the bra is 'in' or 'part of' the 7 -8 yrs old range; so it could be that these bras are not for that age range but that wouldn't make for such an emotive story. I haven't seen these at Tesco, so I don't know but the wording is enough to make me wonder.......
However, I think some children are dressed ridiculously older by their stupid parents, although I think that saying it increases paedophilia is like saying that rape victims bring it on themselves by wearing 'the wrong sort of dress!' If it were that uncomplicated!!!

Yes if you asked the rapists after they have done it, majority of them do admit that they were influenced by the way (victim) had dressed up. In other words it was so inviting. However that does not justify rape.
