Did anybody hear/see him singing '' Make you a Star ''. It was terrible and he should should call it a day singing live, and leave us to remember him when he was a Star.

I caught a few snatches - agree. Would rather remember him as he sung it many years ago.

I don't recall any celebrity ageing as drastically as David Essex. From one of the best-looking pop stars ever, within a worryingly short time he's turned into an old codger. And from This Morning today, I can see he's piling on the pounds too now. Very sad.

Mrs Philtaz went to see him last year and she described it as 'watching you grandad singing at a wedding'.

He used to live near me, and he is a scruffy git, hair all stuck to his face etc. What a shame we all have to get old. But most of us have a shower !
