answering differently on applications

Is it best to just answer straight forwards on applications. Have any of you tried answering differently in order to stand out.

Like for "are you a smoker?"
I don't feel like just putting "no", I'd rather put something like "no, I'm healthy... For the most part :)"

Anyone do this, what happened?

At the end of the day, the answer to the question you have asked is either yes or no. Simple.

They will just think that you are a complete t*sser if you try and elaborate on why you are not a smoker.

Employers don't want to read smart a rse relies on application forms, they ask the questions for a reason not for a laugh.

No don't do this. If they have dozens of these things to read through, they will just want quick yes or no answers.

A lot of employers are looking for quick info on who you are! they ask symple questions to get a symple answer! I wouldn't write more than you should.... they have to sieve through a lot of waffle!

Ok I'm gonna go off on a tangent.

There are no stupid questions imo. I understand many of you are stuck in certain mindsets and have your own ways of thinking, no disrespect intended. It is what it is.

I think you have to be able to ask "stupid" questions to really learn. Also answering questions stupidly sparks creativity and intrigue. That's something I value.

We're socially conditioned to think inside the box all the time like here. I like how this has turned out though.

Forgetting the flame and disrespect, AB is a great place I love it.

It's not a stupid question. My hubby isn't very good at writing C.V's and covering letters. I have to read through what he puts and make sense of it as he waffles and tries to make it sound good by adding long words or trying to put more down than needed.

I'm always reading C.V's as I employ people myself and I like to get to the point of what info I want!

Always keep it relevant and simple!

hmmm I think it can seem like overqualifying yourself. I do see what you're saying with putting too much info down.
