Buildings insurance and leaking roof

Does the buildings insurance cover leaking roof(s). My elderly aunt rents out a property and her tenants have notified her of the roof leaking in 3 -4 bedrooms including the loft extension. Before it only used to leak in one bedroom occasionally (only when it rained very heavily), but the problem seems to have got worse now.

If it as a result of storm damage then maybe they would meet repair costs.

But if it is just wear and tear over the years and a result of poor maintenance, you already mention previous problems, then I very much doubt it.

Read the terms of the policy and give them a ring for a definitive answer

they may not pay for roof repairs but they should all internal damage.

its down to the landlord, there is no reasonable maintenace associated with roofs
