Felling a large Macracarpa Tree

I have rather large Macracarpa tree in our back garden its about 70ft tall and about 50ft wide, it looks like there is a split in the trunk, does any one know approx how much this might cost to fell this tree if it is deemed unsafe?

It's hard to say as prices vary from area to area.
You could ask around to see if the neighbours have anyone they can recommend - always the best way.
Failing that, look in your local yellow pages & ask at least four to come & give you a free estimate. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions about their experience & safety, make sure they'll take it all away & tidy up afterwards, it's a messy business!


Instead of finding someone to cut it down and paying them, find someone who will buy it from you. We did this with poplar trees. We didn't make a lot but at least we didn't pay for it. I'm not sure what the wood could be used for though...
