Any truth that there exist an audio documenting a rather long (one minute or less) and painful burning to death of the three Astronauts - Grissom, Chaffey and White on Jan. 27, 1967?   The official story has always been that they died immediately - no pain - like a bug zapper.

Don't know how true it is, but I saw a TV documentary once where they interviewed some of the mission control staff. Although they were fairly cagey, reading between the lines it took them about 30 secs to die and mission control heard the whole thing. Personally, I can't see how they would have died instantly, so this is probably nearer the truth. What a way to go.

erm  saw a program where the only words were

hey there's a fire in here!

sorry i have turned the Italic off

Unlike Soviet pods which ran at 1 atmosphere and 20% O2, the American pods ran at 100% at a 1/3 of an atmosphere pressure so that the partial pressures of oxygen were around 200 mmHg.

100% O2 will make something go whuuuump!
