Bio and non-bio detergent

Whenever I go to the supermarket, I never know if I should buy bio or non-bio detergent. Anybody know what is the difference, which is better for clothes and which is better for the environment, etc.?

In your body, you have enzymes that help break down food.

The same kinds of enzymes are in biological powders -- they help break down the food you spill on your shirts!

This is why bio powders are used at 40 degrees C or below. Above, and the enzymes die.

Environment: I don't think either are much different. Just wash at as low a temperature as possible. Arial (bio I think) can be washed at 30.

Possible issue: I think some people find clothes washed in bio powder to be more 'itchy' than non-bio.
