Puppies now have an upset tum
7 Answers
Hi guys Woke up this morning to a puppies covered in yellow puppy poo! Went to the vet - one puppy had to be put to sleep as his inguinal hernia was huge. He also had very loose bowels.
Can anyone tell me if Pebbles will grieve? The vet and I did give her lots of time with the dead pup. And has anyone had a litter that has been ok following a tummy upset?
We were not feeding them by hand - so I am surprised this has happened. The vet has given diarsynal for Pebbles and the pups which will counteract the inflammation in their tums. Thanks Louise

Hi ruthann
The puppies are still pooing for england!! However they are still growing and seem to be ok iin themselves.
I have changed Pebbles diet to a light diet - just chicken and rice or fish and rice. I noticed she has unformed stools as well!
I think the pro biotic thing would be good if the pups were older but just now I am trying to avoid cows milk products infact I have even stopped Pebbles having the goats milk so I had better get the calcium tabs lankeela was talking about.
Thanks for taking the time to ask.

Hi, Cheekyteddy. Thanks for keeping us informed! Just be careful none of them (including Pebbles) gets de-hydrated, if their poo is really runny then it's a risk. Don't know what your vet would advise, but I used to give my old dog water from a syringe (obviously without the needle!) into the side of his mouth when he got the "trots" as an old fella.
