Just because animals are physically repugnant to us, and do not appear to suffer, is no reason to eat them alive to entertain a TV audience. Raise the animal order slightly - would Paul Burrel wringing a kitten's neck and eating it appeal in the same way? If not, you have to ask yourself if the ill treatment of any species for fun is really the way we shoud look for relaxation in a civilsed society.
I absolutely appreciate your views - I hope my answer did not infer that I am taking the moral high ground here. I know I am very much in the minority with view - i simply attempted to put the situation into perspective. i do find our approach to lower order animals to be based on their agreed lack of visual appeal. It interests me, and I won't bang on about it any more, i think everyone has made thier points fairly - we must simply agreee to differ.
It was hilarious - especially Ant and Dec stood there trying not to burst out laughing themselves and one of them saying in the middle of it, deadpan, "you're struggling with this one, aren't you?". having said that, i'm kinda with Andy, my defence is that i only tuned in at the moment he was eating the kangaroo's testicle. the kangaroo was definitely dead (and presumably had not been killed for the sole purpose of the former Royal Butler eating its 'nad.
