Thanks...while we're on the subject...what is a red brick university? I'm only asking for the names of them because my mentor person said they're really good.

B*gg*r, why is there a <P> at the end of the link.

I'll try again

(Hope this works!)

Kings College London, University College London (UCL), London School of Economics. I think they are Universities that have been around a while and were not formally polytechnics.

Here's a radical suggestion folks. If you don't know something ASK your mentor. Getting an education is about asking questions and listening. Pretnding you know what people are talking about does no-one any good. Red Brick were the six municipal universities started in Victorian times in inustrial English cities, made "real" Unis before the sesond world war.
They were: Birmingham
Bristol
Leeds
Liverpool
Manchester
Sheffield

Newcastle (for example) isn't really a red-brick university, but recently the term's been used for a number of universities classed as traditional and good quality. Newcastle falls into this category as do others. Ask your mentor....
