Electronic was formed in 1988 by Bernard Sumner (New Order) and Johnny Marr (The Smiths). They have not recorded together as a group since 1999.

Their first album included collaborations with Neil Tennant; their second with former Kraftwerk member Karl Bartos; and their third (final) album includes Doves frontman Jimi Goodwin on bass and Black Grape drummer Ged Lynch.
